Complete list of relevant reports and papers

An action of dissemination and valorisation of the most important results, based on an integrated critical analysis of a large number of projects, is useful to promote the exploitation of the results. This action is a necessary step for preparing and communicating a roadmap for future research activities and priorities.
Preliminary to these activities, classification of projects and literature classification is needed in order to identify the main topics on which the dissemination actions will be based.

The present document proposes the results of a detailed analysis by argument of the collected reports and literature presented in Deliverable D2.1, consisting it the definition of the topics to be studied.

Classification and ranking of projects

This document presents the assessment of the ECSC projects under concern (see list in D2.1.) together with the classification and ranking criteria. A brief discussion on the findings, as well as the assessment forms for each of the projects, complete this deliverable.

State of the Art for each Research Topic

The present deliverable D3.1 analyses all the collected European funded projects in order to evaluate the influence of the research on the improvement of continuous casting process.

This report is divided in sections according to the topics defined in D2.2 and, despite the different nature of each topic, the structure reflects in general the collection of information about the following main points:

1) Evolution of the state of the art in the last 15 years

2) Best practices or solutions

3) Future developments

Two appendixes complete the document:

APPENDIX A: Summary of computational and physical modelling performed in European funded projects over the last 20 years

APPENDIX B: Links between cracking and casting conditions

Roadmap for future research targets, communicated to the main stakeholders.

The present deliverable draws a path for future research about cracks in continuous casting, from the review of the past work and from the discussion with the steel community about future needs and trends which took place during the 12 dissemination events organized within the project.
